I am Maisha, the owner of Maibroidery!
I created this small business during my time in nursing school; I went to a 1 year accelerated nursing program where they did not allow us to work as it was too intense of a program. Because of that, I had to figure out a way to somehow keep myself up financially during school - I love art and creativity so I followed my passion and started embroidering, and here we are!
I put all my love and energy into this small business so I hope you love my products just as much as well.
I am a first generation Bengali brought up in New Jersey. I have a B.S in Public Health and Nursing; traveling to Bangladesh is what pushed me to pursue a career in health as it is one of the most overpopulated and impoverished countries in the world.
Growing up, I loved anything that had to do with art and creativity but never thought to genuinely pursue it. I love creating memorable items, so I had the idea to make custom polaroid frames with pressed flowers in them on Etsy (photos below). I loved it but it ended up becoming too stressful while in school and later had the idea to do something with clothes which eventually turned into this embroidery business! I am so thankful for all the support and genuinely enjoying what I do.
